Hello and welcome to Aussomedog Kennel. We would like to tell you a little bit about who we are. I grew up in Southern California on a mini ranch complete with cows, horses, pigs, goats, chickens, and our beloved Australian Shepherds, Buddy, Sassy, and Heather. My parents raised several litters over the years (my mother showed our dogs) much to my delight. Fast forward more than a decade when I was newly married. Shortly after having married my husband, my dad had another litter and upon visiting my parents, I convinced my husband that we 'needed' an Australian Shepherd puppy. We left with our black tri female puppy, Rosalie. Rose was every bit as smart and amazing as I had promised my husband that she would be. Much to my husband's enjoyment, she also became quite a gifted frisbee player! She was very popular with our neighbors as they all wondered how we tricked her into staying in our yard when we never closed the gate to our driveway. Honestly, she was just so eager to please that teaching her things was easy. She made a dog lover out of my husband. In fact, he liked her so much that the following year, it was his idea to adopt her half brother from a "pick of the litter" arrangement my dad had made with a family that used his male for stud service. We brought little Larry home just before our daughter was born. Having a new baby, I wasn't able to spend as much time training Larry as I spent with Rose. No worries! Rose was so well trained and well behaved that she actually trained Larry! He learned to come, sit, stay, lie down, fetch, ..... all from observing and imitating his older sister. Australian Shepherds are so very intelligent. It is due to our love for and our decades of experience with Australian Shepherds that has brought us to starting up Aussomedog Kennel. We simply love the breed and want to preserve it's integrity. We will breed only standard sized Aussies and will only have a limited number of litters as our dogs are first and foremost our beloved pets and are not 'disposable' to us meaning they will not be bred out and then gotten rid of. They are members of our family. All of our dogs are AKC registered.
At Aussomedog Kennel, we breed firstly for the health of our babies. Obviously, if you breed healthy parents, the liklihood of healthy babies is far greater. We cut no corners on the preventative care of our adults or puppies. Adults are on flea/tick/heartworm preventative and are given NuVet Plus Vitamins daily to boost immunities and to keep them feeling and looking their best! All are kept up to date on all shots and are seen as needed by their veterinary care giver. We want our babies to be well-adjusted and pleasant so that you can enjoy them. All puppies are raised with meticulous care and come with a 1 year health guarantee against all life threatening genetic illnesses.
